"360-Degree Video" is created using a special camera that takes video in all directions at once, then stitches them together. During playback, the "window" the user sees is in one of the directions, but the window can be easily moved during playback. It's like QuickTime VR was back in the day, but with full-motion video in playback.

One of Bjork's recent music videos, "Stonemilker", was done in 360. Although the viewer can be moved in real-time on the full site page, it's perhaps better experienced with an iOS device. The iOS YouTube app uses the built-in gyros and compass to sense where the device is pointing, and adjusts the view in real time-- left, right, up, down, and even behind-- for a "virtual reality" video experience.

Thank you for this explanation. It sounds interesting. Any other examples beside a concert where this is being used?
