what is a modern android phone with comparable specs to an iphone SE?

still thinking about getting an iphone SE instead of a bigger 6 or 7
but what exactly is their main competition
people who don't get an SE what are they getting instead?

I don't think there is any good competition. I looked and couldn't find anything last year before I had to give in and get a 6+ since the SE wasn't out at the time. I haven't heard of anything else coming out since then either.
