Hi,

I'm using Toast 10 to burn a .mkv file to DVD format.. seems like the encoding is taking forever.. maybe 9 hours by the time it's done. Is this normal? what do you guys use and how long does it take. Thanks

yeah i noticed that the other day, you could try re-encoding it to .avi or .mp4 with handbrake, depending on what the .mkv is, it'll be faster then toast, but still might take a while

If you are just burning, it should take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, depending on the speed you are burning at.

If you are re-encoding and then burning, it can take several hours depending on the source material, the quality of the encode, and the length of the video.
