Some real talk here (I'm not a tech Youtuber):
For me looking at the iPhone 12 mini at the Apple store raised the question "what is a smartphone"? I'm still on my iPhone 6S, and the mini has a considerably narrower screen than the 6S. The mini is very cute and pocketable, but watching videos sure would be a lot less enjoyable, because the effective video size is even smaller than on the 6S.. watching Youtube, Netflix, IGTV,... on the mini would still be possible, but more like just for quick previews. Is the mini more of a messaging/social device then? I don't think so, because writing on the narrow, small keyboard is no fun either.

In Europe the entry level 64GB mini costs Euro 800 = US-Dollar 968, throw in a screen protector and charging brick, it's a $ 1000 phone (add another $226 for Apple Care+?). Hard sell in my opinion. What do you think?

- do short tasks like online banking on the go,
- and being able to take great snapshot photos
