So ever since I moved back into my dorm last week my Bose Companion 2 speakers have been behaving very oddly. These speakers have dual-inputs on the back, so I use them simultaneously for both my LCD TV and my laptop. Every 3-5 minutes the speakers make a short random crackle sound, it's very brief but is enough to annoy the hell out of me.

I've narrowed the problem down to the source being my computer, as it seems to lessen the issue when I disconnect the speakers from my Macbook Pro. However, i've ruled out the problem being the audio out jack on my computer as when I plug headphones in there is no such issue. I've tried everything from replacing the mini-jack to RCA cable to plugging the speakers and computer into the same surge protector.

What is causing my speakers to do this? Interference of some sort? Dirty power? Keeping my cell too close to the cable?
