what is growl?

i just went to my system preferences and what growl i dont remeber having it

It is a system notifier that displays messages from applications. Do you have Adium by any chance?

Growl is the notification system that makes pretty boxes/bubbles appear on your computer when stuff happens (download completes, you receive an IM) it. I mostly use it for downloads and for Adium. I love it. It works for TONS of different apps.

no i dont have it so i dont need it how go i delete it

Right click, and choose "remove".
