What is happening in this picture of my network?

There are a few devices on my home network, however I'm only interested in controlling two: iMac (desktop) and htMac (Mac Mini home theatre terminal).

I regularly come across this picture where the iMac or htMac are renaming themselves with consecutive numbers.

Occasionally I have difficulty connecting or lagging performance streaming from htMac to Chromecast or iPads running Plex around the house, could this be the cause?
