I recently received a macbook through my new job and one of the things it has up in the status bar is something called Home Sync. I'm assuming this is something that was configured by my employer but I'm curious what it is/does. I also noticed that, in the login options, there is a network account server configured. I once again assume this has something to do with my employer but since I've never used one before I'm curious exactly how it affects me. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

Those are both related to the same thing. Home Sync is used to sync your local info to the company server.
