Like the title says what will/will-not be covered with the 1 yr limited arranty
 
Essentially anything that results from manufacturing defect. If your hard drive just dies one day, they'll replace it.

There's no accidental damage coverage though, so if you drop it and your hard drive dies, that will not be covered.

If you're out to abuse the warranty, then yes, "playing dumb" is all you'd have to do. The 1 year limited warranty includes all manufacturing defects, if the screen develops a section of dead pixels, the keyboard stops working, or the hard drive dies, they'll replace it.
 
No I normally keep my laptop around the house walk from up starirs to downstairs and from kitchen to living and to bedroom but thats about it and other than kitchen is carpet
