Heyhey!

I'm thinking about replacing my current laptop with a Macbook Pro! I'm just not sure if it's the best thing to do, and if it is, what model would be good. I'm looking into the 15" i5 2.4Ghz MBP(which I wanna buy in discount when the new ones come out). I bought an iPhone 3GS from a friend 6 months ago, and since then, I've never wanted another phone, which is weird for me lol ;)It's an enabler!

What I will use the MBP for (I'm at my first year in college, taking informatics and business, I use my laptop ALL day EVERY day):
- programming (C#, Java, for which I will need Windows via bootcamp or whatever)
- webdesign + photoshop
- SQL type of things
- maybe some video editing (seriously thinking about making YT videos)
- regular stuff: text processing, excel, surfing
- the very occasional game (wow or so)

I'm not sure yet about the switch, simply because my current laptop still works, I would give it to my mom, and Mac is expensive. I am a student, and finding a job is hard for me because there are few spots available. My current laptop is a 17" Dell Inspiron 1720(2,5Ghz C2D, 4GB Ram), which is 2 and a half years old.

Why I want to buy a new laptop/MBP :
- I currently run Windows Vista 32bit and it drives me insane
- I started to get random BSODs but there is nothing wrong with the laptop according to tests, which would mean I would have to reformat the drive for the second time in 5months
- my laptop weighs 4KG!! (8.8pounds) and I take it to school everyday:(
- I have a screen resolution of 1440 x 990 (17" screen) with like 20 dead pixels
- SICK and tired of running virus scans and updates 3 times a week
- my battery last 1hr 15mins while just surfing the web

What do you guys think? Would the 15" i5 2.4Gz be sufficient and last me a long time? Sorry for the long post, I always give too much info :p

Thanks!

EDIT: The MBP 15" i5 2.4Ghz costs €1.691,58 (with student discount) here in retarded Belgium, which is $2.302,83!
