All of the 42mm watches still display at least a 1-2 week delivery time two months after they've been available. I've never wished for smaller wrists until now. I can't imagine how many watches they must be selling for wait times to not have recovered by now.

It takes as long as it takes because what you are ordering isn't able to ship at the time you ordered it. I don't think I'd want a smaller wrist to save one week of waiting. But that's me. You might want to see if the watch you want is at the apple store.
