Not sure the best place to post this, but anyone have any idea of what is the active ingredient in the Whoosh cleaner? The product description talks about it being alcohol-free, non-toxic, etc. I've read prior discussion about surfactants, https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...evices-clean-and-bacteria-free-283689481.html, though interestingly this is not mentioned in the Whoosh website itself. Is it completely proprietary/

The MSDS for Whoosh, e.g. here or here doesn't actually list any specific ingredient, other than stating that it's not toxic.

While phenoxyethanol is listed in some places as one of the ingredients, I think phenoxyethanol's a preservative and may not be the active ingredient for Whoosh's cleaning properties.

If you can’t find it, the other option then is just reach out to them and ask directly.

As a follow up, the cleaner works better than I would have thought! The orange cloth though feels stiffer than I would have expected.

I have used the wipe, please keep wiping a section at a time and use the cloth. Don't let the liquid dry on the screen for too long otherwise, you will have to wipe it again to get it wet to remove the streaks.

I think this orange cloth is very bad and there is a big label that worries me if it could scratch the display. So I use another microfiber cloth but the liquid is great.

I think it maybe as antibacterial. Considered from what I recall toxic to liver and kidneys at some dose in some places. Perhaps just considered non-toxic in the US.

As it maybe absorbed by the skin and perhaps even has some cytotoxic activity at any dose even if mild and considered undetectable, unsure if it'd be wise to use. Seems in general also a nanotech product. As such, I am not sure of how such reacts in the body. There is at least some research on nanoparticles and the question of how such affects the body; haven't looked too much into that.

I still may consider it as some protective polymer to prevent skin oil accumulation on the keyboard yet undecided.

As far as active ingredient, perhaps some proprietary nano tech polymer that simultaneously absorbs dirt oil etc. and creates some protective layer. Perhaps multiple compounds.
