I have 27'' late 2012 iMac with an i7 processor. Anyone got any recommendations on a 1TB Hard Drive in between 60-80 quid? Am i looking to cheap? Is that a reasonable price? Or is there even such thing as a good/bad External Hard Drive???? Hellpppppp haha..

Thanks!

I can't say that I've experienced a "bad" drive. Western Digital and Seagate seem to be the most popular and I've been happy using both for several years.

Specs will effect how happy you are, more than anything, if you judge performance. Throughput, rotational speed, and the interface decide the end-user experience. Consider this, would you rather have USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, all or either?

I bought a Western Digital 1TB drive after having problems trying to use a Seagate drive for Time Machine. The WD drive works perfectly. I'm not sure how this translates to your currency but it cost me under $80. on Amazon.com. Hope that helps. I would not trust Seagate again after all the time I wasted trying to get a new one to work with Time Machine.
