Hey I just inherited this 6 month old macbook aluminum unibody and I am still getting used to it.

In order to do so I want to ask the experts what is the best Media player out there for my machine. One that covers plenty of different popular formats? Or a plugin type? I'm not realy savvy on this subject and I want to do the right thing. This is mainly for video viewing.

Any suggestions?

QuickTime & VLC

I've always found QuickTime that will already be on your Mac very good. However on the odd occasion when QuickTime won't play a certain file, VLC will usually work just fine.

As far as I'm aware it's still freeware. Just Google 'VLC'.
