My drive just died after nearly 2 years on my MacPro. I need a replacement. It used to be the pioneer DVR series that was highly recommended.

What do you recommend as a replacement optical DVD Burner drive? I'm not looking for the cheapest. I rather spend a bit more and get quality and reliability.

Is there anything Best Buy sells that's compatible with a MacPro. The dead drive is a OPTIARC DVD RW AD-7170A.

Thanks in advance guys.

Honestly, any CD/DVD drive should work no problem. Most come with warranties, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Hell, you can even hop for Blu-Ray if you have the money.

That's a PATA Drive. I'm not sure if the Mac Pro can use that.
I don't own one, so you'll have to ask somebody who owns one.

Sorry.
