What is the best site to check whether a iphone is unlocked or not?

Just asking I want to get a phone from a person.
 
I don't know about the best, but I have used swappa's tool a couple of times and it worked fine

It does not clearly indicate unlock status.

A receipt from Apple indicates it unlocked. I just unlocked by 6s through ATT. All online, and have confirmation email as proof.

Yeah I don't know. I just did a unlock of my iPhone 7 last week, through my carrier, and all I got was a Congratulations, your iPhone is unlocked - no model type was mentioned, no serial number shown, no IMEI number shown - I sure wouldn't accept anyone's word based on that "info."

All I have is the monthly bill showing the carrier adding on the $50 unlock fee - what ever that's worth.
