Hi, before I sold my MacBook Pro 16" 2019, I backed up the internal SSD using Time Machine. I cannot even open the backup drive in a Windows 10 PC. What is the best software to access the files stored in Time Machine backup drive?

Thanks. So if decided to move entirely to Windows, it is better to just drag and copy personal data files to an external drive and then to a new Windows PC?

That is basically what I have done for my most important files, but I do have backup software that has both Windows and Mac versions. (Acronis True Image)

The MBP is gone, CCC would be a safety net and alternate method - TimeMachine isn;t without issues and having even two such would be prudent. Along with Carbon Copy Cloner.

For Windows I've relied on Paragon Software: HFS+ and NTFS, Hard Disk Manager for full set of backup, partitioning and managing storage.

Thanks. Do you mean this software?

How is it compared with Mediafour's MacDrive mentioned in the article linked by @bobcomer ?

Do they preserve the original file creation date or they will change the date to whenever copying of the files to a Windows's drive?

Due to various limitations of M1 Mac, I am moving to all Windows/Linux at least for the time being.
