Hello, I meant Imovie 08,

I have recorded .wmv files on parallels, and can convert to just about anything with AVS converter software.

I am new to Ilife 08 (imovie) and want to edit video in it.

What is the best format to use?

What format options do I have?

I want to post the videos on a website and have many people be able to see them.

unless they changed it for imovie 08, the only formats accepted by imovie back in the day was .mov and .mp4. i personally recommend .mp4 because you can use a .h264 codec with it and compress it a fairly good amount. however, i'm not sure if you can do this in imovie though.

someone can probably come and clear it up.

For HQ, go with .dv as your input file. It is uncompressed, so it will take some space but it pays off in the end. If you cant afford the space, go h264 .mp4 files. Decent quality at decent sizes. Either way it's a trade off.
