What is the best way to stop pop-up ads?

Hello. Recently, a pop-up ads from Thinsations appear on my screen often when I login to my yahoo email account. Is there anyway to stop it? I am using Safari. Thanks.

That doesn't always work. I get a Netflix popup all the time despite never turning off the Pop up "Blocker" that's built-in to Safari.

Yes. I have.

firefox + ad block plus + no script = as close as possible to eliminating unwanted pop-ups while still allowing the ones you want/need (work-related web apps for example)
