iPhone 12 What is the big deal about a 6 element lens in iPhone 12?

As the topic states, what is the big deal about the 6 element lens in the iPhone 12? iPhone 11 Pro has fewer elements, but Apple has made the MP of the cameras the same between the 11 Pro and 12, so what is the expected improvement of the main camera beyond just the aperture?
