I have an old 2008 macbook that i have repaired for my girlfriend and have installed her sims3 and all expansion packs and all works great, loading a little slow but once loaded works great.
Yesterday I brought the settlers 7 for mac and installed it first on her laptop. The game is so slow and won't even function properly on the mac.
I installed it on mine (newer model from last year) and it works fine. I see no performance difference for the sims3 but for settlers it works better.
Now the graphics on both games are pretty much the same and if anything sims requires more processor etc... so why on earth dont settlers work on hers and why is it so slow... the only thing i can gather by viewing the installation is that settlers is a transgaming import so runs windows dlls etc... but should that really affect it....??
I hope you understand my question and someone can shed some light on the matter.
