Hi folks,

I've got an early-2008 white MacBook that shipped with a 160GB hard drive. I'm getting pretty close to the limit with music, videos and pictures so I'm planning on upgrading to a new hard drive soon.

Simple question really: what's the biggest hard drive you've managed to get working in your MacBook.

Thanks,

Phil

WD5000BEVT 2.5" is fast and the biggest hard drive that would work.

Samsung HM500HI is cheaper but slower and uses more power.

There shouldn't be a "logical" real-life limit in terms of storage capacity.

Just make sure you get a drive with the right connector (SATA) and 9.5mm height. There are a few practically non-standard 12.5mm height drives...
