I for one am amazed at how Shazam listens to a song for about 15 seconds, and 99% of the time is able to tell you who it is.

I even had it listening to a person singing a song in the bar near me, and I liked the song, so I ran Shazam and it gave me the original artist etc, and I was able to download it from iTunes.

I think out of all the apps I have tried this one is the most unique to me anyway

I am continually blown away with iMovie and GarageBand.

A decade ago you needed a Power Macintosh to edit SD video, then a Mac Pro to stitch together HD, and transcoding & rendering could take hours.
Now one can shoot fairly impressive 1080p30 on the iPhone 4S, do basic edits, and distribute from the phone - truly amazing.

Similarly, many do not realize how revolutionary GarageBand is. An 8-track recorder and creation tool that fits in your pocket (iPhone) or small bag (iPad).
The unit the Beatles used was the size of a washing machine.
