Hi,
I live in Russia.
Today I sold my macbook black and bought 2 macbooks pro. One for me and the other for my girlfriend. My one is the 2,66,4 Gb, dual VRam. I checked it through serial, turns out it's the early 2009 macbook pro, and my girlfriends MBP is the 2,53 Mghz also double VRam that are not sold right now on official USA apple website.
1.What is the difference between my 2,66 early 2009 and the mid 2009 one?(the only thing that I noticed is that my 1 has 512 mb 9600gt and the current 1 has 256 mb 9600 gt)
2.Is my girlfriend 1 obselete, I mean it's even more powerful than the one on the official website?

The one you have is the top of the line early 09 mbp.

You have a 2.66Ghz Core 2 duo CPU. Your girlfriend has a 2.53Ghz Core 2 duo CPU. Yours is better in this regard.

You have an integrated 9400M GPU AND the 9600M GT 512MB GPU. Your girlfriend has just the 9400M if I am correct. Yours is vastly better in this regard.

You have 4GB of ram and I believe she has 4GB as well. Same in this regard.

Your battery is rated to last 5 hours per full charge. Hers is rated to last 7 hours. She has a better battery, slightly.


I have the model that you have, early 09 2.66 and it is an amazing machine. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

also display gamut is wider on the mid 09 range.
alot difference too.
try check one the red color on both
you'll see how big gab of gamut is there

They're both early '09 uMBP's. Basically, you both got express slots instead of SD, you got double the video memory and double the L2 Cache. Your girlfriend got the 9600m gt and the 9400m as opposed to just the 9400m.

Double VRam and L2Cache, does that they are faster than the ones displayed on the official USA apple website?
It seems that apple powered-down the macbooks pro line at the same time introducing the new battery and that increased the battery life time.
