I have a medical device cleaning machine that uses ozone to disinfect it...my question is

would it be ok to place my iPhone in the ozone disinfecting machine To disinfect the phone at the same time?

I don’t know about an ozone machine but I put my phone in a PhoneSoap UV-C cleaning machine daily and it turns clear cases yellow very very quickly (unsurprisingly)

Over time, it could damage your phone, depending on the output / exposure level of your ozone machine. If you want to disinfect your phone, “PhoneSoap’ is safe to use, as the other forum member posted.

Ozone will damage most plastics and rubber. If you expose your phone to a decent amount your phone probably won't be water proof/resistant and you might see some other "surprises". It's used in the automotive and marine industry to freshen up the vehicles. Works well. Just have to not overdo it. What that means for an iPhone? Not sure.

I don't believe an Ozone machine is a method Apple suggests to use when cleaning your iPhone! They don't suggest using any cleaning products other than a clean lint free cloth. Maybe a little warm soapy water but only if you avoid getting it in the openings.

Where in that document do you see use soapy water? Soap reduces surface tension and will allow water to get past seals and the speaker grill membranes much easier.. If your saying a damp soapy cloth then that's definitely ok.

No Mark. You’re better off using a microfiber cloth slightly damp with a very minute amount of isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

These are the instructions for phones, find the section that covers your model as some do have differences between them.

It mentions soapy water in the section relating to iPhone 11 etc.

I missed the bit at the top about using isopropyl alcohol but it does mention use of lint free cloth and soapy water(iPhone 11 models)in the link i provided. I was only reiterating what Apple themselves have stated.

I've used those small 1" alcohol saturated prep pads you can find at any pharmacy or online to wipe down the phone occasionally. Zero issues. Removes oils too.
