What is the ios version in brand new ipad2 right now?

My bf bought a white one from best buy a few days ago (couldnt resist after seeing mine) and his came with 5.1

Apple puts the latest OS on their products. That is, an iPad 2 produced after 5.1 came out will have 5.1 on it. It's possible there are iPad 2s that were produced before 5.1 still floating around, which is why some people report getting one with 5.0, but I wouldn't count on being able to find one with 5.0 on it.
