in past when i've needed to look back at old txts i was able to continue pressing the "load earlier messages" button until i got to the first message.

did something change? does this have a limit on it now? if so, where do we get these details? does apple publish this info?

edit - for whatever reason this is only impacting one txt thread... afaik

Still no limit. You can still go right at the conversation's start. It'll take some time, and your iPhone/iPad will become more and more sluggish, but hey! All your texts are there!

I thought back around iOS 5 it started deleting some older messages in conversations. They no longer go all the way back if you have too many messages.

I've been with my girlfriend since 2012. We must have sent each other 20,000+ texts. I checked a while back and EVERYTHING was there. Try and ask Apple directly ;)

Slacking, mine with my GF goes back to 2007 when she got me the first iPhone :) I've also been able to go back to the beginning there, but that's the ONLY "conversation" i have going back that far, I think the only way you won't be able to is if you run out of space which is around 80k/100k messages if I remember correctly.

Think the limit is 75k text. I use to keep really old threads but I've hit the cap a couple times so had to delete them.
