What is the meaning of having Edition only at selected stores when you cant buy any?

So, I have read news that the Edition will be only at selected stores. There was even a tool that you can use to check it.

But you can't even buy any watch at the stores. So what does that really mean? Does it mean that the Edition will be "demo" at those stores?

Apple Watch hasn't been released yet. Those few stores that have any Edition models will have them for display until the 24th, when they will become available for purchase. You will only be able to purchase an Edition at one of these stores, through the online Reservation system. This is essentially an "in-store pickup," which is not an option for pre-orders.
