Ok i'm a college student about to finish up an associates degree at a local technical college....but I am not finished there I want to go on and sort of be a game designer but I do not have the artistic ability what so ever. So I was thinking of what the heck I really wanna be and thought about this job that I have no idea what the name of it is called but have herd of it in various places.

It is something along the lines of a net nanny , cyber detective, something like that a person who goes on chat rooms, myspace and other sites and looks for a child molestors or other predators. What is the name of this job/career? Does anyone know. :) Thanks.

you don't get paid to do that...

I'm sure you're thinking along the lines of PeeJ though. I don't know if I should be glad or furious at what they're doing, but that's for another thread on another day to discuss.

Like what that girl was doing in that movie "40 days and 40 nights"? I forgot what she called it, but all she did was mark sites that were innapropriate. That would be so damn boring.

You want to be Chris Hansen when you grow up? That's a first....

Actually, you have three avenues for this sort of thing. It's generally called Computer Forensics. You can be involved through private companies, through the FBI/CIA, or through local police forces large enough to have experts doing this sort of thing. Are you specifically interested in catching child molesters?

It sounds awfully like PeeJ.

Although I do know what you're talking about, I really feel sorry for the people who do this kind of work. They are abused by everyone about everything while they get to deal with scumbags and possibly some of the most gruesome violence on earth.

Half the people I read about who do this are cyber-vigilantes.

If you want some practice, start with YouTube. You wouldn't believe the sorts of comments some people post.
