What is the Old App That Makes Everything Black Except for the App in Use?

Hey, i had an app that would black out everything besides the foreground app a long time ago. It was very useful for studying. Any idea what it was?? Thanks!!

You can do almost the same thing without an app ...

Hold down the option key when you click on an icon in the dock ... all the other apps hide, leaving just the frontmost app.
