I am a new iPhone user. I just wanted to sync the contacts and iCal events I put on my iPhone to my Mac mini. When it synced the phone it made me "Authorize" my Mac mini for some reason and then it took all my apps off my iPhone and put it on my iTunes account on my Mac. I figured out how to put them back on the iPhone.. but they still appear in my iTunes?

Any one have tips for syncing/iTunes functionality between Mac OS X and iOS? Any online tutorial videos?

I don't know if I should have "Sync Apps" and "Automatically sync new apps" checked or what would happen if they weren't checked. I just don't understand why iTunes on my Mac wants to store iPhone apps..

At least my contacts and iCal events transferred. That was easy. Now I just need to understand why the apps want to sync and how to manage them through iTunes.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!
