I've recently found that I've got 'openvpn-service' running constantly in my activity monitor. I vaguely remember installing and then uninstalling openvpn a few years ago, so it's a bit strange to find that process running. (Searching for openvpn in finder doesn't yield any results, so I'm assuming it really is deleted...)

Quitting and Force Quitting doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone know how I can quit that process?

Look in all these folders for a launch item that may be starting this service.

~/Library/LaunchAgents (~ is your users folder)
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/Extensions/

Running EtreCheck should list all the launch items, and where they are. Then just find "openvpn" in it.
