Hi folks, first post :)

I'm thinking about buying the Macbook Air i7 but was recently speaking to a Mac rep who mentioned there is no SSD in the Macbook Airs, there are flash drives instead.

So was wondering if anyone could provide some details of the Read/Write speed of the flash hard drive in the Macbook Air i7 as I had no luck finding out that information from the Mac rep.

That's a little misleading. SSD and flash are the same. Granted, the MBA doesn't have a traditional 2.5in SSD that you'd find in an iMac or MBP. It has a custom sized blade-like SSD.

This article can tell you about the speeds: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4528/the-2011-macbook-air-11-13inch-review/8

EDIT: And fwiw, you can buy 3rd party replacements that are faster- http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/Aura_Pro_Express

Thank you very much Kyle, that's great!
