What is the return policy like for an iPad refurb purchased from Apple store?

I have one on the way but am having second thoughts of splurging for the entry level "iPad HD'

If I dont open how would I go about returning, can I return to an apple store? How about if its open can I not return it?

I bought a refurb Apple product, opened it, and decided it wasn't that great so I returned it with no questions asked for a full refund.

You should be able to return it even if opened, the question I'm unsure of is whether you can return to store instead of shipping it as instructed. For that one, better to call Apple and ask.
