Maybe this has been stated somewhere, but why do all the iPhone videos have the time set to 9:42 AM? Is there some significance to this? Did something happen at the original iPhone announcement at 9:42? Is this some internal Apple reference?

on august 29, 2007, 9:42am, three billion human lives will end. the survivors of the nuclear fire will call it judgment day. they'll live only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines.

Probably some internal joke, they've been known to do things like that. I think Steve even carried that over to Pixar, because they do it a lot too (having songs, pictures, etc, from previous films). I'd love to hear the story, but I doubt we will, at least not until some time down the road when it's nostalgic.

It does sync with the timeframe it was introduced, though I've spotted at least one which shows 9:41 when Jobs was cued to say, “every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything. Apple has been very fortunate recently…".

, so who knows for sure?

take the two and nine and you have 29th... you take the four and June has four letters in it. Yes, yes I know that July has four letters in it as well, but it is an odd month, the seventh of twelve, so June is the only logical month it could be

:D ;) :D

Bear in mind that the boot-up sequence of the Cyberdine Systems T-800 Series Model 101 terminator did contain a number of Macintosh libraries and kernel extensions, including Quicktime... hmmmmm....

It was exactly 9:42 in the morning in January when they unveiled it at Macworld. The only other thing I can think of, is that they just picked a time so that when they do the commercials, they won't have to match up the time or anything, because I'm sure they did a **** load of editing.
