What is the trade-in value for M1 Mini 2020 (8GB vs. 16GB)

Hi, I traded in my MacBook Pro 2019. I am considering to buy a Mini for temporary use. Any sign when Apple will release a M1 Max mini? Too bad they did not release it last month.

I will most likely trade in the M1 Mini when a new M1 Max Mini or a suitable laptop is out next year. With a 256GB SSD, will I end up losing more money trading in a 16GB model rather than a 8GB model?
