Hello everyone. Im new to the forum and am trying to figure out the value of a mac pro. I was told it was purchased for $6400, but I don't know much about these. Here are the specs on it. What would be a fair price? Thank you
Specifications

AirPort Extreme Card (Wi-Fi)

16x SuperDrive

2 - 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

4 - 1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA

Mac Pro RAID Card

4 GB Ram

2 - ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB

Apple Keyboard

Apple Care Protection Plan

Plus
Mac OSX Server v 10.5

$3,000 - $3,500 depending if the extras are of any value to you. As a seller I'd be looking for $3,500 - $4,000 for it.

Most of the extras are outdated and the RAM is sub average. Apple RAID card is junk as is the X2600. 1 TB drives are superseded by 2 TB drives. I would not pay more than 2500 for the thing. The 2008 octad will be two generations behind in a couple of months. The vender certainly has put his money into the wrong items.

Well and 08 refurb is 2400$, and that computer is basically the stock one + more cheap harddrives.

It's still a pretty good computer even if its two gen old ;)

At 2500 it would be good value for money, at 3000+ I would give it a pass and wait until 5,1 hits the market.
