Before someone replies with a "Search the Forum" message. I did and the search function is weak at best. But that's beside the point.

Can someone tell me what this little circle icon is/means? It replaces the 3G or E icon. I've seen it a couple of times and just recently was able to get a snapshot. I live near Nashville and have seen it once, briefly. I just got back from Santa Rosa, Florida and saw it twice and was able to get the snapshots.

I believe that it is the GPRS indicator, its the slower connection for when you are not in an EDGE coverage area.

The Funny thing, I've never had my old 1st gen iPhone revert into GPRS mode, while my iPhone 3G reverts to it way too much for a next-gen phone in the NYC metropolitan area. Who's fault is it really, mmm? :p
