What is this MagaBackup that keeps popping up?

I was streaming a football game Sunday on my Mackbook Pro and this MegaBackup kept popping up telling me I should scan now. I ignored it but now it pops up saying the scan was completed, do I want to upgrade to the new version? I keep hitting cancel, was able to remove it from the Launchpad (I think) but it keeps popping back up.

Is this an Apple program or some crook overseas? Thanks.

scareware. get a malware removal program and use it.

Search for Malwarebytes, download, install it will remove the vast majority of OS X related Malware, if you need further protection try Bitdefender (passive) from the Apple store, or Avast for Mac (active).
