Got my iPhone 12 Pro graphite on release day. Put it in a case. Took it out the other day and found this:

You can only see it in certain light and wiping it with my thumb covers it up. What is it?

What case are you using? looks like it scuffed the stainless steel frame.

I have something similar. Only two cases I have are the Apple Clear and Totallee soft slim on my PB pro Max. I want to say it happened from the Apple case while taking it on and off so many times but I don't have any conclusive proof. I've also dropped it a couple times while in the case, but oh, well.

I have an Otterbox Symmetry case. Doesn't look like a scratch to me directly under the light, more of a discoloration?

My Gold 12 Pro Max has these stains too. They wipe off completely, but as soon as there's any oil they show up again. Should I return it?

Those pictures look like normal wear and tear that can happen when using the phone careless. I don't see any defects. The oils from your hand and fingers wears no the finish.

5 days old phone that’s always been in the Apple case. Marks wipe off but appears in the same exact patterns again.

If that is the case (no pun intended), and you haven't spilled anything on the phone while in the case etc., I would contact Apple about that.

Yeah no spill at all just took it out of the case to look at it :D Tried to wipe only the band with alcohol as Apple recommended but they appear in the same pattern as soon as there’s any moisture or oil. Really don’t want to return it as the screen has no issues at all.

Looks like case damage marring. The defective frames out of the factory are pitted. I never trust hard plastic against phone frames.

Apple official leather case. It’s very soft. Never had the issue with pacific blue one with the same case. Or midnight green with official apple leather case that I’ve used for a year.

Not sure about the marks on OP’s graphite.

It's so weird that all of you guys are able to return it or get it swapped and where i live Apple doesn't do anything about it and act like it's normal.
