I've done some googling on this and have seen varied responses...dust, a chip in the glass, etc. I can't see anything with the naked eye. Thoughts?

The purple specks are dust. I had 3 or 4 of them... some of them big enough to see through the glass lens. They were ruining my photos and vids the last few months I had my iPhone 5. Genius bar appt didn't result in a replacement or fix. I ended up getting an iPhone 6 and all is well again.

Thanks, kinda what I figured, wishing there was a way to dislodge it. I just picked up my wife's iPhone 6 today and she's selling her 5. The buyer doesn't care, but still would have like to fix it...

Saw this a while back.

Seems easy to do.
