It wont let you, nothing happens when its clicked or the mouse is over it and no little scroll down thing comes like most of the others

Duff-Man says...I'm not sure what it is as I've not seen it before, but if it doesn't do anything then get rid of it - hold the Apple key and drag it off the menu bar....poof....oh yeah!

Ya about that It wont let you remove it or rearrange it either, pretty much its there and I can't affect it

Is it there during bootup?

If so, try going to system preference->account->login items and see which apps are designated to run during startup.

Also look in your Application folder and check if an app with the same icon can be found there.

Ya its there when I restarted the computer and nothing is designated to run during startup

Isn't there someway to find out what this stupid icon is? I can't delete it I cant click on it, its there on startup...

Maybe check the utilities folder for the same icon...?

Open system preferences and under accounts select yourself and look to see what you have in the login items. It's no doubt there.

No the only thing there is Itunes Helper

Maybe check the utilities folder for the same icon...?

Nope don't see it there either

Is there anyway this could be some malicious virus sort of thing? I know macs aren't supposed to get viruses but I think I heard you can get some different malicious things. I find this highly unlikely though because I don't think I've downloaded anything recently just want to know if I can rule this out

Highly impossible to be a virus. Stay calm.

Go to Activity Monitor, and choose "Active Processes". Go through each process and see if you can figure out which process uses that icon. Any app that runs in your system will show up in the Activity Monitor. If you can explain all the processes in the "Active Processes" section, select "All processes" and check through again.

I know you said you clicked on it but have you tried right clicking on it to see if the preference menu will pop up?

Yes, problem solved.

OP, obviously you ain't looking hard enough. This should be in your Activity Monitor if it's a printer.
