I have been looking at pictures of mac setups over the years and have seen something in a lot of photos and don't know what it is/what it does.

It is a silver knob, that has a blue underglow and usually is next to a set of speakers.

I have attached a picture that has this knob in it
Can somebody please explain what it is, what it does, and how much it costs?
It is just used with those speakers?

thanks for the quick responses
Now my question is, is it good, worth buying (since it sounds cool)?
That would depend if you have a good use for it or not. A $40 volume control is a bit overkill IMO, but if you can find a good use for it (like a Jog/shuttle wheel) and don't mind the price, then go for it.

This is a computer's nipple. It is best not to post pictures of them on MR as the moderators frown on this
