Yeah, seems like a flashlight app with morse code functionality (beyond the typically pre-programmed SOS feature).

Go back the home screen and use the multitasking bar to see what app was open. But yea, it looks like a flashlight app.

I'm not sure about the OP's state of mind if he gave his iPhone to a friend to hold. You can look, but you can't touch!

Probably because it has a morse code feature that would translate something you type into morse code via the phone's flash.

Doh! That's an old flashlight app in a folder I got for free -- thought I'd deleted it. I don't know how he managed to make all the keypunches/swipes to get to that screen by fumbling the phone.
