It has been 3 years since Apple went intel so why is there so much pointless stuff about the PBG5?

Dukebound is correct.

the Power PC G5 chips ran very hot, so they couldn't be made into laptops.

I have a question: If they couldn't put it on laptops, how did it go onto the iMac, and Mini lines? Wouldn't that run very hot also?

The mini never got the G5. Buy the 17 inch iMac was about as thick as 3 17 inch PB's so it could have gone in a 3 inch thick 17 inch

I didn't know that the mods deleted it, I use it to measure the impossibleness of trying to guess an update...But seriously, if it's a Powerbook G5, you would need two security slots to prevent it from getting stolen...;)

Actually when you look at a suitcase that most buisness men carry the size is not that bad :p

We are spoiled with the size and weight of our portable computers.

Perhaps it would be useful to discuss the fine points about processor differences regarding energy used.

Such as the the current MBP not using current chips because the Core i7 uses way more power than Core 2. There are low power i7's coming but not quite yet.

I remember the rumored G5 PowerBook referred to as the "FurnaceBook".

I can agree with deleting +1 and First Post BS. But I still find the PB G5 and Safari/OS X is snappier posts funny. They're long running jokes around here, that shouldn't be killed off yet. Just my humble opinion.

I disagree, it just bloats the thread and makes it harder to find a decent conversation/ debate/ information within a thread.
