The Land of Hope and Glory
Personally I loved the Power Mac 9600. Ugly as sin but at the time that was my dream machine.

I always wanted one as I thought it was the most powerful computer in the world (I was only 12 or 13 at the time).

From a cosmetic perspective the new MacBook Air is almost impossible to beat. So what is your favourite Mac model of all time?

ibook

The iBook G4 was a classic. When I got mine (1.33ghz), thats when I realised I no longer needed a desktop.

Beautiful too.

My old 12" PowerBook (Rev. A, heat problems and all). As soon as I saw that thing at the keynote, I knew I would have one. I miss the small form factor that I think even the MacBook Air does not rival. It served me very well for 3 years before being sold to finance a Mac mini and eventually the iMac I'm using right now.

The Powermac G3 blue-and-white (350 Mhz) was simply indestructible -- what a workhorse. Probably my favorite of all times.

Other notable models that set the standard for their times were the Powerbook 100, the first ever Powermac (66Mhz), as well as the Mac Classic and Classic Color, the Centris and Quadra, and, of course, the original iMac.

The iMac G5. The inside is as beautiful as the outside. Apple's approach to user-serviceable parts has taken a step backwards ever since.

This months mac model of teh month.

Blue & White G3 - Dunno why, always loved the design, and how it carried through for years.

Another vote for the 12" PowerBook here. Great little machines, and very sad that Apple don't have a proper replacement in the current line up.

I'll also chip in with a 12" PowerBook here. I regret selling mine a bit.

My laserwriter 4/600.

I have it for more than 12 years and I diched it when I bought my iMac G3 because it did not connect easily. When my HP multifunctional refused to print a couple of weeks ago I finally gathered all my cables and adapters and hooked it to my iMac G3. It was printing after a few seconds and the quality is still good enough for my needs. Now it sits under my desk as a networked printer.
