AppleInsider is reporting that Inventec Appliances has won a contract to produce 100,000 Apple TV's, with the first round shipping later this month (January).

In light of this news, what is your estimated Ship By date for your Apple TV?

At this point in time, mine is scheduled to ship Feb. 28 and to arrive Mar. 5.

Cheers

**I also ordered right after store opened

I have the same ship date and the same estimated delivery date. I ordered the day it was announced.

I ordered the day after...6.40 AM the next morning....Ship by Deb 28...says I'll get it on March 6th....I hope it ships sooner:(

I just ordered today, Jan 12th and it shows the following:

Ships: Feb 28
Delivered: March 6

Thats longer then I was expecting. I was hoping it said it would ship at the begining of Feb, not the end.

Hopefully, I get lucky like I did when I ordered my MBP. Hopefully, it ships early.

it seems like apple is good at that....they say 'shipping in Feb, and they ship it the last day of the month...

I think the date is just there as a placeholder, and I foresee it shipping earlier (hopefully with an announcement on an iTunes Store update for higher resolutions and more studio support).

That is why I have stopped purchasing content from iTunes. *IF* Apple allowed me to re-download the higher resoultion content after they released it I would keep buying stuff, however they screawed me last time with that :D

I am really hoping the come out with some higher quality content. iTunes content doesn't look bad on my new 61" 1080p DLP set, but it doesn't look very good either.

Feb 28th as well (in Germany) with new airport.

Its funny, I ordered it on the phone and they were really trying to push the new airport on me. They almost didn't take no for an answer.

I tried to explain to the guy I have gigabit running through out the house, and he was still trying to push the new Airport on me.

He was also trying to push HDMI cables on me. I explained to him that it was cheaper to purchase cables from Monoprice.com *and* I already had spare HDMI cables.

I found it rather odd.
