Same one that I have always used on Macs - since my first Mac in '92 - sosumi.
I have tried others occasionally, but always go back. IMHO, somsumi and the boot chime tell me "it's a Mac!"

Although I haven't owned Macs for as long as you, I used my dad's PowerMacs in the 90s and the Sosumi sound has always been my favourite. It just feels familiar and "Mac-like", as you say!

Mine has always been on "funk" (the default) but I'm curious if other users play with it.
