What is your rescue tech repair boot look like

I have a bootable SD card with the OS X installer which gives access to the recovery tools. I also have the recovery partition that is on the Time Machine drive. If I need anything more than that combination can handle, I probably need to wipe the disk and restore from backup anyway.
