The town without George Bailey
I had a first gen ipod shuffle, but I've just now really joined the ipod revolution with my new 2GB nano.

It came with some sort of dock, but I have no idea how to use it? What is it? It's made in such a way that you can't stand the nano up with the cord in it. What good is that? I thought maybe the clips on the bottom were for winding the wire around, or clipping it to something, but it seems I'm wrong.

This dock came in the standard package bought from the Apple Store.

Oh, I see. So I'd have to buy another dock to put it in. Arrgh!

You don't have to buy another dock but a dock if you'd like to have one.

That or you could always go the DIY route.

I suppose it's fine sitting on the table with a cord in it.

Now that I think of it, I should've splurged the extra $50 for the 4GB model. Oh well.

If it's any conselation the dock is a nuisance to use because you have to unplug the headphones, put them in the dock and then put the iPod in.

:p

the 4GB model would still leave you dock-less. none of the iPods come with docks anymore.
